The Famous Manufacturing Company

The Famous Manufacturing Co. was an early 1880s entrant into building American farm implements. This company built several Champion Hay Presses that are shown below. This company remained in business until 1909 producing farm implements and automobiles. They built American Automobiles called the Champion and Famous.
The Champion was a High Wheeler equipped with an air cooled 10/12 horsepower overhead valve two cylinder opposed engine under the seat. The rear wheels were 42 inches and the front wheels were 36 inches, both solid rubber tires. All advertising indicates a Chicago, Illinois address. However, the The Famous Manufacturing Company was located in East Chicago, Indiana.
