Syracuse, NY

The Century Motor Vehicle Co. began building the Century Steam Cars in Syracuse, NY about 1899. By 1903 the Century Tourist appeared on the market. It was a gasoline powered American Automobile that sold for $750.00. Advertising claimed that it was “Made for Touring.” For an additional $50.00 it could be equipped Dos-A-Dos (seating back to back).

The 1903 Century Tourist had a roomy body, with a wide comfortable seat, a long wheelbase, tiller steering and Century spring
suspension. It was equipped with a single cylinder water cooled engine rated at 7 horsepower. Transmission had two speeds forward and reverse, plus a chain drive.
