The Hanson Motor Co.

The Hanson was one of the few American Automobiles ever built in the South and Georgia. George Washington Hanson was the driving force behind The Hanson Motor Co. having been in the bicycle business and sold Franklins, E-M-F and the Saxon in the early 1900s.

On February 27, 1917 the new Hanson prototype was introduced at the Southeastern Automobile Show in Atlanta. Production began in 1918 due to the first world war and the last of 850 cars were made in 1925.

Early production included a $2365.00 two passenger Roadster (shown below), $2365.00 five passenger Touring Car, $2465.00 four passenger sport, $2885.00 five passenger Sedan. The Hanson's were an assembled car and had bodies that were made of alumium in The Hanson Motor Company's own shop.
